Questions
How do I calculate the number of studs in a wall?
Divide the wall length in inches by your on-center spacing, then add one for the end stud. For example, a 20 ft wall at 16" OC needs about 16 studs before corners, openings, and waste.
Does this include corner and opening studs?
It gives the base field-stud count plus a waste allowance. Add extra studs for corners, T-intersections, and the king/jack studs around door and window openings.
